In 11.02.2006 (this Saturday) the diva of Turkish rock Sebnem Ferah was performing in Bostanci Gosteri Merkezi which is an important concert area in Istanbul Turkiye. She was singing her own songs, especailly from her last studio album: "Can Kiriklari". She also performed a cover after saying "I didn't do covers for a long time in Istanbul. Tonight I want to sing 'Gates of Bablyon' from Rainbow. Sometimes I make covers in my concerts, because I want you to learn where we come from. These groups and singers are our inspiration sources, teachers, reasons we begin to music and idols". Hearing Ronnie James Dio's lyrics from Sebnem Ferah's voice and Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solos from Metin Turkcan's guitar (he was a member of Pentagram which is a group known as MezarKabul in Europe) were preferential for Sebo fans. This historical moment was recorded by my mobile phone, however the recorder wasn't me. My friend Tolga recorded this with my mobile phone. He was at back and I think he doesn't know how to zoom with Sony Ericsson k700i. That's why the video's quality is bad. You don't have to watch. Just listen, because it is hard to see Sebnem Ferah in this video. However, I think you have to listen Rainbow cover from Sebnem's voice. You heard Michael Jackson and Skin covers from Sebnem Ferah before. This time, you'll listen "Gates of Bablyon"... This concert also made my dreams come true. After this concert, I met Sebnem Ferah and her group; Buket Doran, Ceren Tugen, Metin Turkcan, Aykan Ilkan, Ozan Tugen and "mor ve otesi" member Kerem Ozyegen at backstage. I and www.sebnemferahclub.com members celebrated Sebo's bass guitarist Buket Doran's on-coming birtday. Buket became happy and cried, because she said it is the first birthday surprise in her life. It was also the first time I met them. I am very happy. However, you won't able to watch the birthday party. You'll just watch live video of "Gates of Bablyon" from Sebnem Ferah... (more) (less)

Damn that girl can sing. She evens sounds like Dio. I got dizzy watching it but the band sounds like great.

Yes, she is also The Offspring's favorite Turkish singer and her group is The Offspring's favorite Turkish group. The Offspring watched a concert of Sebnem Ferah and they became a fan of hers. They said "Sebnem and her group are better than us".

Poor quality but the band is obviously pretty good from what u can hear.And her voice is brilliant - very good.I think not too much people would dare to sing that song - Jeff Scot Soto did and it sounded good.Couldn't imagine that a band from turkiye sounds so good.Great lady.

Extremely poor quality video, but this singer's incredible, and the backup band is really good. Definitely worth seeing. I'm impressed.

Thank you for putting this up, I was very impressed. I went online to try to look at some of her CDs, but i couldn't find any. Too bad, I wish she would release this live version og Gates of Babylon in the states.
